Oak - Ouercus robur
The Trees vary in height from 50 to 90ft and can have a diameter of up to 5ft. We had a burr oak that was 6ft 6ins diameter, a very rare find! English Oak once manufactured is probably the strongest and most durable of the Oaks. Oak is used for a wide variety of purposes, exterior and interior joinery, posts, gates, heavy construction, furniture etc. Oak can be worked to a fine finish it can be stained glued and polished easily
