Making A Purchase We will deliver to anywhere in the UK and Ireland.

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept credit card and debit card payments. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.

We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Once we receive your order we will pack it, and then work out the postage. At this stage we will contact you by telephone or email to let you know the final cost. Payment can be made by card over the phone. Alternatively payment can be made by cheque made out to G & S Specialist Timber, once the cheque has been cleared the goods will be dispatched.
Shipping And Handling We deliver to the UK only within 2 to 3 Business days.
We will always try to use the most economical carrier to reduce your carriage costs

up to 1.0Kg - First Class Mail Rates
1.1Kg to 5.0kg - £7.50 + VAT
5.1Kg to 20.0Kg -£10.00 + VAT
In excess of 20Kg incremented by £0.30 per Kg thereafter

Scottish Highlands
up to 1.0Kg - First Class Mail Rates
1.1Kg to 5.0kg - £12.50 + VAT
5.1Kg to 20.0Kg -£15.00 + VAT
In excess of 20Kg incremented by £0.50 per Kg thereafter

Scottish Offshore
up to 1.0Kg - First Class Mail Rates
1.0 to 20Kg - £28.00 + VAT
In excess of 20Kg incremented by £0.45 per Kg thereafter

Northern Ireland
up to 1.0Kg - First Class Mail Rates
1.1Kg to 5.0kg - £16.00 + VAT

Delivery Schedule We will deliver to anywhere in the UK and Ireland.
All our products are priced ex delivery. Delivery charges are then added on at the "Checkout stage".
Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free.
Credit Card Security When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
Guarantee G & S Specialist Timber is fully committed to provide the best service we possibly can, for each and every customer. We are aware that you have the choice to shop elsewhere and we will only get your repeat business when we provide the service that you deserve.

All blanks are inspected before they are put on sale in our shop. For mail order customers we further check each blank prior to packing. It is in our mutual interest that we do not send faulty goods.

Blanks are not sold to specific moisture content as the MC can differ slightly within any given board. Most of our timber, after a long time air-drying, is kiln dried to bring the moisture content to suitable levels for use in the home environment.

As part of our commitment to customers we will support our customers with any claim against the manufacturer's warranty. If you ask us to do so, we will put your claim forward to the manufacturer and argue the case for you.

Right To Cancel
You can cancel your order up to seven days after receiving the goods. Please get in touch with us first by telephone or email and quote your order number (this will be on your order form and receipt). All we ask is that returned goods are in the original packaging and in the original condition (not used). We will issue a credit or refund for the full purchase price however we cannot refund the postage.

Faulty Goods
We will replace any faulty or damaged goods or give a full refund. Before returning goods please telephone or email us with your order number details so that we are aware of the problem and can decide the best course of action to take. We cannot accept blanks if work has taken place on them. However do get in touch if you are not fully satisfied with blanks received. Any faulty goods must be returned to us before we send replacements or a refund.

Damage in Transit
On receipt of your order you will be asked by the carrier to sign the delivery note. If you notice the parcel is damaged please take the following action:

1. Open the parcel and check that the goods are not damaged. If no damage has occurred sign the delivery note and write, "damaged parcel". Keep any documentation in case you later find damage to the goods enclosed.
2. If you cannot inspect the goods with the delivery driver present please write on the delivery slip "damaged parcel- goods not inspected" and keep any documentation.

In either event we (G & S Specialist Timber) will have more chance of making a case for compensation from the carrier. If you do find that the goods are damaged, please contact us by telephone or email quoting your order number and we will take measures to get the goods returned. Once we have the returned goods we will forward your original order.
